1. Where are you from?
I was born in raised in West Orange, New Jersey and still live here today. I spent 4 years living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when I was in college.
2. Why did you move into recruitment?
I got my first job in legal recruitment in early 2022 while looking for sales opportunities. Although it was by chance I ended up in the recruitment space, I love working in this role. It suits my skills, personality and I have the opportunity to help so many people daily and have a lasting impact on their careers.
3. Best piece of advice to give to lawyers looking for a job?
Find what fits you best. A lot of people chase money and listen to what their peers have to say about different firms. However, when it comes to finding a job, it is important to do your due diligence and find the place that matches best with who you are as a lawyer and a person.
4. Top restaurant in City?
Although I have lived about 30 minutes from New York, I have not really spent too much time in the city. I am excited to be in the office every day and get a chance to explore all that New York has to offer!
5. Favorite thing about the place you live?
I am in close proximity to so many different places. Whether you want to take a trip to the beach in the summer, to the mountains in the winter, or Manhattan for the day, everything is under an hour away.
6. Best place you ever visited/favorite holiday location?
When I was about 10 years old, my family and I visited my aunt in Montana when she lived there. It was an incredible experience and would love to go back there one of these days.
7. What do you like most about working for Sonder Consultants?
The working environment and support systems at Sonder are unmatched. Being in the office everyday next to people who are able to help me where needed and teach me things that I am still learning is invaluable. Also having weekly meetings with team in London and Sydney is great.
8. Biggest inspiration/role model (dead or alive)?
My biggest inspiration is my dad. He has always been an incredibly hard worker and always puts my mom, sister and myself before himself. He has taught me what it takes to be successful and a great person.
9. Favorite book/film?
My favorite movie is The Dark Knight. It does not matter how many times I’ve seen it I am always down to watch it again and it just never gets old.
10. If you were marooned on a desert island, what one item would you bring with you?
A knife; I feel like it is the most practical tool in that situation. You can hunt with it, defend yourself, and also use it to help build shelter.
11. If you were president for a day, what would you change in the world?
I would create more programs to help the homeless (especially in major cities).
12. Favorite interview question to ask?
“Tell us about yourself”. As simple as the question sounds, a lot of people tend to stumble through their timeline and can get tripped up. At the same time, a good answer to this question says a lot about a person.
13. Biggest interview faux pas?
Showing up late or not coming prepared with your own research about the firm. It’s the little things in interview prep that go a long way!
14. If you could invite absolutely anyone to a private dinner party with 4 guests, who would you invite?
Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, Matthew McConaughey
