Celebrating Women in Legal Technology

Written By:
This year, the theme for International Women’s Day (8 March), “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world,” celebrates the incredible efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping an equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the gaps that remain.

As a Senior Recruitment Consultant, who is fortunate enough to speak to some incredible women daily, I wanted to contribute to this day by reflecting on some of my experiences with some extraordinary leaders in the industry.

Each day, I genuinely learn something new about the Legal Technology industry, form a new connection, or sometimes even get invited to participate in various discussions. With this, I have been able to connect with some of the most fascinating women from around the globe – seasoned professionals that have been around Legal Technology since its infancy, who can share their war stories and successes. I always leave these conversations having learnt something new, and it fascinates me. Passing this knowledge down to juniors looking for their break or anyone who genuinely has an interest really brings me joy, fulfilment and pride in my job. I do feel, however, that I have just scratched the surface when it comes to women leading the way in Legal Technology, and I am sure there are many superstar women out there I am yet to meet.

Another concept I have been blown away with is women helping women get further in their careers. I have been lucky enough to connect with women in leadership roles who are happy to guide me and advise me on how I can further myself, which is invaluable to me.

I started my new role here at Sonder Consultants back in May 2020, fresh to the Legal Technology space. In the last ten months, I have grown more in myself and my career just from the connections I have built than any other time in my life, which speaks volumes about the leadership style this industry is presenting.

I wanted to give a shout out to some of the inspirational women in my network, who have helped me both with and without knowing it!
